After a top five finish year after year Dave Murray of Uintah and Ouray Agency took over the top spot in 2007 and with 10 points on the Trick Question Test he finished the year in front of Darnell Day of Absentee Shawnee. It all started on May 13, 2002 at a General Leasing class in Mount Vernon, Washington. On June 18, 2004 Dave reached the Indian Land Professional level. Darnell Day—Runner-up Darnell Day, twice named Indian Land Professional of the year finished the year in second. Darnell is a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma . Vonny ShortBull, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and spent last year at Pima Agency. Ms. ShortBull is now lending her expertise to the Central Office Special Projects DPS. She is receiving the No. 3 award. Kim Yearyean, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and 7 time Indian Land Professional of the year is No. 4. Kim has recently taken a position as General Manager for the Reservation Trans-portation Authority in So. California and continues her advocacy for Fee to Trust. Ann Alexander of Southern Plains Regional Office, Anadarko, Oklahoma is in the 5th place. Davis Pecusa, Hopi Tribal Council, and Annabell Kingbird, Leech Lake Band tie for 6th Place. Roxanne Poupart, Lac du Flambeau Band. No. 8. Cheryl Minjarez, White Mountain Apache Tribe, No. 9. Jeff Zander, Paiute Tribe of Utah, No. 10. Catherine Wright, Chickasaw Nation Industries No. 11 Gail Primeaux, Miami Agency, No. 12. Julia Molina, Gila River Indian Community, No. 13. Amy Boucher, Muckleshoot Tribe, No. 14. Uintah and Ouray Agency of Fort Duchesne, Utah is once again the No. 1 Realty Office in the Nation. The Agency moved into the No. 1 spot several years ago while Chet Mills was the Superintendent and recognized the need to develop a highly skilled realty staff. Under the direction of Mr. Picard and Johnna Blackhair, Realty Officer U&O Agency has maintained the top spot in the nation.
Pima Agency of Sacaton, Arizona is another perennial award winner and is the No. 2 Realty Office in the Nation. Davis Pecusa was instrumental in providing the necessary training and development to bring Pima into one of the top realty offices in the nation. This has continued under the leadership of Cecelia Martinez, Superintendent.
Hopi Tribe, of Polacca, Arizona is 3rd under the leadership of Robert Charley. Davis Pecusa one of the top National award winners for years is on the Hopi Tribal Council.
No. 4 is Muckleshoot Tribe of Auburn, Washington under the leadership of Sarah Lawson and Ken Lewis. Muckleshoot is a small tribe but continues to provide some of the best realty personnel in the nation. No. 5 is Rocky Mountain Regional Office, Billings Montana. Clark Madison, long time Regional Realty Officer has consistently worked at developing a highly trained staff.
