Indian Lands Court Decisions II

This course is designed as an immediate follow-up to the INDIAN LANDS COURT DECISIONS COURSE for those Indian Land Professionals who desire further professional development in this area.  A thorough understanding of the rules that apply to Indian Lands is essential to success as an Indian Lands Professional.  Unfortunately, opportunities for training in this area is very limited and there are very few resources available to the Indian Lands Professional to learn about this area alone.  

It is important to understand both WHAT federal rules regarding Indian Lands require and WHY these requirements exist in order to work effectively on Indian Land issues in the field.  Yet achieveing this understanding of WHY certain requirements exist can often be a frustrating and time consuming effort for the Indian Lands Professional.

In this course, we review some of the most important, and most recent, Indian Lands court decisions that explain WHY federal rules contain various requirements for Indian Lands.  We will also review current trends in Indian Lands court decisions.  Often in the field, the Indian Lands Professional is confronted with comments such as:  "I just don't understand why that is required.  That rule doesn't make sense to me."  The focus of this course is understanding the principles and concepts behind various federal rules so that these rules make sense and the Indian Land Professional can better apply these rules in the field.
